Spectacular work of the Nancy School by Gaston VENTRILLON (1897-1982). It is an Oil on canvas signed lower left, dated (1946) lower right and measuring 65 x 81 cm (76 x 92 cm with its silver frame. The painting is in perfect condition. Gaston VENTRILLON , known as VENTRILLON-LE-JEUNE, was born in 1897 in Nancy, into a family of artists. He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Nancy. In 1930, he left for Algeria, where he stayed for two years . He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes lorraines and the Galerie Moser, the most famous Nancy gallery of the time, devoted personal exhibitions to him.
