"18th Century Neoclassical Clock With Cupid"
Beautiful and refined table clock in mercury-gilt bronze, with original gilding. The decoration presents the allegory of love, with Cupid sitting and leaning on the arch, while on the base his mother Venus is depicted lying in the shade next to a dog. The porcelain dial is characterized by Roman numerals and the winding is functional and weekly, with a chime at the hours and half hours. The dimensions are elegant and the chisel is of great quality, with silk thread suspension and lever escapement. This clock adds a sophisticated touch to any environment and represents an object of great value. French manufacture from the Neoclassical period, second half of the 18th century.
