A date and signature in each corner, 1344 in Persian, i.e. 1932. old restoration of the two edges, beautiful velvet, fringes in good condition, carpet in very good condition.
Caucasian Kazak, probably originating from Georgia, near Armenia. In the center of the medallion, a decoration of very stylized mille-fleurs in irregular bands in shades of taupe, camel, brick, red, rosé, bronze green.
Border decorated with a repeating pattern along the outside of a Greek resembling the Caucasian border of the "running dog".
We find this type of heratic and stylized geometric composition at the crossroads of Russia, Turkey and Iran. We also find this decoration with a lot of resemblance in many Caucasus, which shows the difficulty of identifying certain Caucasian carpets which we designate under the generic term of Kazak.
Note the shades of wool in the bricks and in the bronze greens, proof of a handmade carpet and ancestral craftsmanship.
The colors used bring us closer to the aforementioned region, brick, bronze green, and terracotta are shades that are found in the tradition of all Kazak territories.
A well crafted, very decorative piece in very good condition and of rare chromatic quality.
