Very rare engraving by Hieronymus Wierix representing the Christian soldier. We see a Christian knight with sword in his right hand and shield in his left in armor and headdress. He walks on 7 swords all named by the 7 deadly sins. In the title block at the top of the image "by the Grace of God, preceding and following our lord Jesus Christ". In the margins in Latin: belt of righteousness, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, belt of truth, the spirit of the sword which is the Word of God, the shoes which prepare for the gospel of peace. In the lower part "MILES CHRISTIANUS, the Christian soldier made and executed by Hieronymus Wierx.
