"Engraving By Hieronymus Wierix "christ - Good Shepherd" Before 1619 17th Century"
Very rare engraving by Hieronymus Wierix representing Christ the Good Shepherd. We see Christ carrying a lamb on his shoulders. In the background, Jerusalem in its ramparts, on the right the Goldotha and a shepherd taking out his flock. In the lower part in the cartouche: "Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep, the one that was lost." Luke 15. Made by Hieronymus Wierx with the grace and privilege of Joachim de Buschere, secretary to the council of Brabant. Magnificent allegory created before 1619, the date of his death in Antwerp. 8x5.5cm
