Guillaume Edeline born in 1902 in Namur (Belgium) died in 1987 in Chairière (France).
Belgian painter of landscapes, portraits, still lifes and flowers, watercolorist, engraver. Student at the academy of Saint-Josse-ten-Noode (1921 to 1929), drawing with H. Ottevaere and sculpture with G. Fontaine; at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels he took classes with A. Bastien (1928-1929). Drawing teacher at the Athénée de Chimay, Ixelles and Bouillon. At the L'Art libre circle in Brussels, he met C. Counhaye, H. Wolvens, M. Howet and A. Raty; he is a member of the Luxembourg Academy. From 1934, numerous personal and collective exhibitions in Belgium and abroad: Vienna (1937), Budapest (1938), The Hague (1949)... He traveled to Italy (1949 and 1956) and passed the winter 1969-1970 in the South of France as evidenced by numerous watercolors. Flemish Expressionism and French Cubism influence his landscapes (Meuse and Semois valleys...), his views of cities (Bouillon, Neufchâteau...), very architectural; R. Brucher describes his art as “expressionist constructivism”.
