Object description :

"Large Monstrance - Notable Relic Of Saint Honorat - 18th Century"
Saint Honorat, Martyr. It is probably Saint Honorat, bishop of Arles who died in 429, the same one of whom his disciple and successor Saint Hilary of Arles said of him: "If we wanted to represent charity in a human figure, we would have to portray Honorat." Our large reliquary monstrance is made of carved wood, occasionally gilded and polychromed. It rests on two square feet.
On the back are five wax seals confirming the presence of the authentic relic. They bear the mention of the parish of Saint Leonard in Ekartsau (near Vienna)
An important ex-ossibus relic of the upper part of the skull, is surrounded by a rich assembly of pearls, beads and silver threads
An Austrian work from the 18th century In very good shape.
Dimensions of 61 cm high by 41 and 11 cm deep.
