Gustave Vogt (1849-1937), from a family of porcelain manufacturers and importers, took over the Limoges office in 1870 that his ancestor had acquired in 1850. He joined forces with Tressemann Emilien in the early 1880s. In 1891 , they bought two small porcelain factories, in the suburb of Montjovis, in Limoges in France. Their production of quality earthenware is intended for export to the United States, distributed by their New York office. Tressemannes retired in 1907. This allows us to date this large plate to the years 1895/1900.
