Vallauris Brunner Earthenware Service In the 1950s, Monique Brunner completed her first internship as a potter in Vallauris in the Madoura workshop where she met Picasso and Suzanne Ramié. Kurt Brunner, of Swiss origin, made various trips to Northern Europe where he learned ceramics and immersed himself in Scandinavian culture. In 1954, he was hired at René Neveux's Atelier Cérenne in Vallauris, which employed 15 decorators. This is where Monique and Kurt meet. In 1959, they created their workshop together in Vallauris, the Poterie du Verseau, which they moved in 1967 to the Quartier des Issarts. Their ceramics are sold in Vallauris, in Vence then from 1974 are exhibited in numerous galleries on the Côté d'Azur of the Atlantic Coast. Their production is also very successful in the United States and England. Their creations are also the subject of numerous orders from restaurants in the region, particularly in Cannes. Their main decorations, some of which have been deposited, are: Fish decoration, Flower decoration, Bouquet decoration. Several ceramics and earthenware by Monique and Kurt Brunner are exhibited in a Museum in Switzerland.
