"Infantry Officer's Sword Model 1788, France, Restoration"
Brass frame, pommel in the shape of a plumed helmet, bivalve shell, entirely wooden spindle copper filigree. Triangular blade engraved with the royal arms, three crowned fleurs-de-lis and a sun. The donkey-shaped shell is a good size compared to other examples.
Good condition, without sheath, the riveting button was previously redone. Steel, brass, slight remains of gilding, copper, wood.
