rare and Pretty miniature on paper "fete villagee" by Jean Jacques de Boissieu (ATTR) monogrammed lower left. Good condition, the glass has some defects (micro cracks) such as the marginide glass disease Jean Jacques de Boissieu is a French designer, engraver and painter, born November 30, 1736 in Lyon where he died on March 1, 1810. Enjoying during his lifetime of great renown in France as in Europe, nicknamed by some the “French Rembrandt”1, he is considered one of the founders of the Lyon School of painting. He produced a few plates for Diderot's Encyclopedia, then specialized in portraits, landscapes and scenes of daily life in the Lyon region. His style is linked, through his concern for realism, to the Dutch school.
