The Ligbi, established in Ivory Coast and Ghana and converted to Islam, were influenced by the Senoufo, going so far as to commission Senoufo or Mandé to carve their masks. The Djimini, members of the Sénoufo ethnic group living in the Dabakala region, have also adopted this practice. Their masks, associated with the do society and often supervised by the Ligbi during dances, reflect these crossed influences. This masked tradition, shared by the Djimini, persists during religious celebrations such as Eid-el-Fitr and Eid el-Kébir (sheep festival), accompanied by sacrifices and songs, thus symbolizing the end of the fast. Before the festivities, if necessary, the masks are repainted and coated with koro, a mixture of burnt leaves and ashes mixed with palm oil.
