"Painting By Gabriel édouard Thurner (1840-1907) Pier Of Flowers "
Magnificent, extremely rare and very important painting painted by Gabriel Édouard THURNER, very probably the painting which earned him a 2nd class medal at the 1893 salon, representing a pier of flowers on an entablature. Of extreme quality, at the best of his career and these subjects which he had made a recognized specialty, we can grasp in this work all the influence of impressionism by which the artist is influenced. He was raised by CHABAL DUSSERGEY and exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1865, then at the Salon des Artistes Français, was a professor at the Gobelins in 1880. Honorable mention at the Universal Exhibition of 1889 and a bronze medal at that of 1900. Great talent recognized in flower paintings. Museums: Amiens, Clamecy, Mulhouse, Luxembourg, Épinal, Rouen, Strasbourg and Tourcoing in all these fine arts museums. This superb work is in perfect condition, signed lower left and with a very pretty frame gilded with 18-carat gold leaf in competition condition.
