"Paperolles Reliquary With Eight Holy Relics - 18th Century"
In an oval frame in gilded and nicely carved wood, our reliquary in rolled and gilded paper and accompanied by white beads, receives in a central motif in the shape of a flower, 8 so-called cramped relics. Thus we find, thanks to the clearly legible phylacteries, fragments of the following saints: John the Baptist, Paul the Apostle, Augustine, Francis Xavier, Clare of Assisi, Adrian Martyr, Anthony Abbot, and James the Apostle as well. The whole rests on a red fabric background. On the back are two wax seals.
Used condition, some accidents on the papering as well as on the frame.
Dimensions of 44 cm long and 40 cm wide. A congregational work from the end of the 18th century.
Plan for delivery because this piece cannot be sent by post, due to the traditional fragility of rolled paper assemblies.
