"Gouache Drawing "bourgeois House And Its Garden" By Adolphe Maugendre. 1850"
Magnificent drawing on buff-colored paper enhanced with gouache and watercolor representing the garden of a bourgeois house in 1850. We can note the great care in the architecture of the house and the details of the architectural elements of the period, but also the the animation separating the charming scene of the hostess and her daughter busy enjoying the joys of the park, contrasting with the good nature of the cook taking the air on the porch. Work of Adolphe Maugendre (1809 Le Havre -1895 Paris), painter, designer and lithographer, he specialized in landscapes and buildings. Beautiful original frame mounted with keys in Rosewood veneer, period glass and period Marie-Louise (some foxing). French School of the 19th century, signed and dated 1850. No repeats or tears in the paper. Drawing: 38 cm x 25 cm. Frame: 70cm x 56.5cm.
