At The Pardon De Penhors By Maurice Cadic (19th/20th Century)

Painting entitled Pardon de Penhors and dated 1949 in the rear part, it was produced by Maurice Cadic. The traditional great pardon takes place in Pouldreuzic and is celebrated in the chapel by the sea. The Pardon of Notre-Dame de Penhors in Pouldreuzic is one of the great pardons of Finistère. Notre-Dame de Penhors is one of the sailors' chapels found along the coast of Audierne Bay. The Notre-Dame de Penhors chapel has long been a major place of pilgrimage in the Bigouden country and attracts hundreds of people from the Bigouden country and even Cornouaille in Breton costume. Maurice Cadic (19th/20th century) is a Breton painter from the Pen'march school, and like many painters of this period, this ceremony captivated him.
