"Case In Gold And Rose Enamel From The 18th Century, Switzerland"
Flat, slightly trapezoidal tablet case with gold cage frame and pink enamel panels. The panels of the case feature alternating gold spangles forming parallel streaks and star spangles on an opaque pink enamel background. The upper part is hinged and opens with a push button. The lower panels are decorated with two octagonal, monochrome medallions representing lake scenes with fishermen. These medallions are framed by fine work of gold spangles enhanced with enamel. The gold cage setting features alternating half-beads of translucent blue enamel and opaque white enamel. The inside of the case contains a writing set including ivory tablets with gold rivets and a pencil.
