"XVIII S Wire Dispenser In Marquetry"
Lovely box opening with a sliding tray that can slide into the lower part of the box and revealing an articulated and adjustable mechanism using butterflies. The main axis is mobile thanks to a ratchet and allows winding. The stability of this box is ensured by a hidden ballast probably made of lead. The box offers a very beautiful marquetry of flowers on a background of sycamore wood and green nets. The interior is made of rosewood as is the frame of the dispenser which is very finely turned and finished at the ends with ivory pompoms. This exceptional living room object is perfectly complete, 2 spools are provided extra. French work from the Louis XVI period.
