"Cardboard Box With Painted Decor And Arte Povera XVIII C."
Very beautiful ribbon box with domed lid, in painted and varnished cardboard, with application of flowers using the Arte Povera technique. We can also note a subtle decoration of embossed gold paper forming an adornment imitating bronze as well as small orange and gold crenellations which are reminiscent of the paper work of the period. The interior is covered in blue silk and the lid held in place with ribbons. This object is in exceptional original condition, with some very discreet wear. No repainting. Brass hinges. French work from the end of the 18th century. Louis XVI period.
