The painting is signed lower right by Émile Wattier (1800-1868), a French painter and engraver of the Romantic era known for his numerous illustrative lithographs. The painting is painted on an oak panel with a small slit at the bottom right and which measures 14.8x28 cm. It is framed in a wooden and stucco frame gilded with gold leaf in the Louis XVI style.
