- Bronze with medal patina representing two German Shepherd dogs, one sitting the other lying down signed L.Riché with the stamp of the founder Colin in Paris with the mention ANC (former) MON COLIN PARIS in a rounded hollow engraved on the terrace. - Louis Riché born in Paris on 05/29/1877 and died on May 12, 1949 in Paris is a French animal sculptor who was trained by George Gardet (1863-1939), also an animal sculptor in his sculpture workshop. - He exhibited at the Salon of French Artists in Paris for the first time in 1896, when he was 19 years old. - He will continue to exhibit regularly at the Salon of French Artists, particularly between the two wars, of animal subjects, he sculpts numerous animals always treated with naturalism, his talent is recognized and appreciated in his time and benefits from a notoriety acquired during his lifetime. - He works with many materials, marble, wax, sometimes silver, ivory and mainly bronze. - The Colin company is a prestigious art foundry established at 29 rue Sévigné in Paris in 1848, then at 17 rue des Tournelles from 1914, it has a sales store at 12 avenue Victor Émanuel IlI in Paris where it sells his bronzes to the public. - The Colin foundry took part in numerous universal exhibitions including Chicago in 1893 and 1900 in Paris where it won a grand prize. - The Colin art foundry worked with many renowned artists in its time including Carrier-Belleuse, Fratin, Mathurin, Moreau, Pradier etc... - The Colin foundry has changed ownership several times and the stamp of the foundry evolves with the succession of the owners of the Colin house and bears the mention from 1843 to 1898 Émile Colin et Cie, from 1898 to 1906 M.Colin et Cie, from 1906 to 1923 Mon Colin, Jollet et Cie since 1923 to 1950 Anc (former) Mon Colin , the foundry closed definitively in 1950. - Period 2nd quarter of the 20th century around 1923-1950.
