"Ghoum Silk Carpet, Iran, Shah Period Circa 1960"
Ghoum rug made of silk velvet on a silk foundation. Characterized by a midnight blue field with swirls of twisted lace foliage in the shape of caterpillars surrounded by old gold flowered palmettes decorated with a central golden yellow and cetadon green medallion in the shape of a pendant. Four spandrels recalling the central medallion as well as a triple border, the main of which is beige and turquoise with polychrome seedlings of bulbs and flower buds. Density: Around 10/11000 knots per dm2. Measurements: 320cm x 217cm
