Nicolas POUSSIN (after) French painter. Born in Andélys in June 1594. Died in Rome on November 19, 1665. Our watercolor: The Empire of Flora Inverted from the work of Nicolas Poussin painted in Rome around 1630 and exhibited in the Gallery of Old Masters at the Dresden Museum. This watercolor is difficult to date even if the watermark on the paper directs us towards a support taking us to the beginning of the 18th century. This canvas was painted at the same time as The Plague of Astod and it has often been agreed that one was the counterpart the other. 1 vertical tear, 3 small verticals in the lower part and 1 vertical in the upper part which does not harm the whole.
