Bronze “The Imploration” by Eugène Bourgouin (1880-1924). This bronze with black patina is on a marble base signed by the artist at the base and signature of the founder "Susse - Frères édition Paris". It is in very good condition. A sculpture is exhibited at the Pompidou Center by this artist called “Despair”. The sculpture measures a total of 50 cm in height with its marble base (without its base 30 cm in height). The opening of its arms measures 17 cm wide (the marble base 8 cm). Eugène Bourgouin participated in the restoration project of Reims Cathedral. In 1898 he was introduced to the workshop of Louis-Ernest Barrias where he met great masters of painting and architecture. He entered the National School of decorative arts in Paris in 1901, then at the school of fine arts.
