Object description :

"Exceptional Pair Of Lxv Period Candlesticks With A Crowned "c" In Silvered Bronze, 18th Century "
Exceptional pair of large LXV period candlesticks in silvered bronze, hallmarked with a crowned "C". Made in the purest "Rocaille" style, in the spirit of Juste-Aurèle Meissonnier and Sébastien-Antoine Slodtz, these very beautiful candlesticks present a rich "Rocaille" repertoire composed of scraps, windings and foliage elements resting on a large base with a very scalloped edge... The current silvering, in very good condition, is not original but is already old and the whole displays a very beautiful patina. The two candlesticks bear under their bases the prestigious mark of the crowned "C", a rare tax stamp affixed over a very short period of the LXV period, between 1745 and 1749 and guaranteeing the quality of the execution because reserved for the most beautiful bronze achievements of the moment. French work, most certainly Parisian, from the Louis XV period, between 1745 and 1749. NB / Shipping possible for France via Chronopost: 50 euros.
