"Marais International Design Console, Glass And Plexiglas, Circa 1980"
Marais International is a Parisian company that has been offering high-quality contemporary furniture since the end of the 1970s. Its collections have a light and refined aesthetic, using selected materials, such as glass or plexiglass, combined with steel. This beautiful console dates from the early 1980s, it is no longer in the catalog. It offers two thick safety glass tops (15 mm thick), connected by four Plexiglas feet (20 mm thick) mounted on steel fixing brackets. (The whole thing can possibly be dismantled using awl keys, but it is very difficult to reassemble, and abstention is advised). Its light, sober and very designer aesthetic harmonizes with any contemporary, Scandinavian and even Art Deco ensemble... Good general condition, with traces of use: a few fine scratches, a chip of glass under one angle of the upper shelf (no sharp and not very visible), and another on one side of the lower plate at the level of a fixing bracket (see attached photos). These traces in no way harm the solidity of the whole, nor its general aesthetics. It should be noted that this object, when it was created, was sold for the equivalent of €1,500 today... Overall dimensions = length 107 cm (105 cm + 2 cm for the side screw covers), depth 37 cm, height 82 cm (height to upper shelf = 80 cm). Height between the two trays = 67.5 cm Weight: quite heavy, this console must weigh around 40/45 kg. Possible shipping extra, depending on distance; delivery possible in Pau and nearby surroundings...
