Painting, oil on canvas mounted on cardboard, presenting a seaside. Signed at the bottom right Théodore LEVIGNE. Théodore LEVIGNE (1848-1912), French painter, student of Jean-Pierre Laÿs, then of Joseph Guichard at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Lyon. Exhibited in Paris (Grand Palais) in 1865. Many museums hold works by this artist: Musée des Beaux Arts de Lyon, Chambéry, Nice, Villefranche sur Saône, Tournus. Ref: Bénézit - Dictionary of Painters and Sculptors in Lyon in the 19th and 20th centuries by Gouttenoire. Dimensions with frame: 83.5 x 64.5 cm. Dimensions without frame: 65.5 x 47.5 cm.
