Louis-Prudent LERAY, French painter, student of P. Delaroche. Debuts at the Salon of 1844. "Prudent LERAY excels in genre paintings, where coquetry and grace give a poetic character" (Wikipedia). The painting presented is characteristic of the work of this artist. Many museums preserve works by Louis-Prudent Leray: La Rochelle, Nantes, Rouen, Saint Etienne. Dimensions with frame: 38 x 43 cm.
