"Virgin Of Childbirth"
Nevers earthenware statuette representing the Virgin Mary and the child Jesus from the late 18th - early 19th century. Called a birthing virgin, used in the past in homes, particularly during childbirth, and then carried a lit candle throughout the mother-to-be's labor. Visible and logical wear to the enamel (see detailed photos). No cracks, no restoration. Note: the original hollowed-out and pierced crown attests to a true virgin in childbirth. Delivery: €10 for mainland France.
