"Rare Velvet Reliquary Hunting In Its Wooden Box - 18th Century"
Astonishing tomb-style hunt of which we find very few examples in this form. It is presented in its protective case delicately painted on three sides. There are numerous flowers on a cream background. An opening provides access to the main window of the reliquary. Which is covered in green velvet and has six niches with a gold foil montage on a red background. The two largest niches are on the main face and two on each side face. Three small windows were broken and one of the niches was damaged. Our reliquary rests on four flowered feet. The main niche has six clearly visible ex-ossibus relics. One of them came loose. Thus present are Saint Placid, Saint Violette Martyr in 362 (Purpura Martyr), Saint Claude, Saint Vital Martyr (Vitalis Martyr), Saint Digni Martyr, Saint Erremus.
The upper niche contains fragments of Saint Vincent Martyr, Saint Calixtus Martyr, Saint Viti Martyr.
Both have their original glass. Several saints remain on the side, notably Saint Gaudence Martyr in 364 who occupies one cavity and Saint Anastasius, a second.
