"Set Of Four Sèvres Porcelain Plates With Gold And Blue Decor Circa 1840"
Set of four Sèvres porcelain plates decorated with foliage, borders, rosette and gold stars on a royal blue border. They are signed Julienne for Alexis-Etienne Julienne, active as a painter at the royal factory as painter-decorator from 1837 to 1849. On the reverse, the trademarks and several signed inscriptions, as well as the decorator's signature. One of the four would require restoration because an impact caused two splinters, producing a fel going all the way to the center. The other three are intact.
