Object description :

"Jam Maker In Crystal And Silver, France Circa 1819 "
Silver jam maker with its cut crystal container and its twelve single-plate spoons. The mount is in molten, hammered and chiseled silver taking the shape of a Medici vase resting on a square pedestal with four lion's paws, the perimeter of which is highlighted by a large frieze decorated with rosettes, palmettes and pearls. The terrace of the foot is decorated with a frieze of water leaves, echoing the border of the upper part of the frame. On the two main faces: a relief representing a winged Victory in the company of two angels, a torch in her hand, holding the reins of a chariot pulled by four horses in a cloud accompanied by attributes of Zeus. On the side faces: the pushed back face of Gorgon surrounded by a decoration pierced with acanthus scrolls. The double side handles of the jam maker are curved in shape and end in the heads of Greek warriors wearing helmets. The grip on the lid features a ring of pearls and two dolphins with intertwined tails. The jam maker kept his twelve silver spoons, fixed around the body of the receptacle.
