Stamp of the artist's workshop (L. 4555) Our sketches of feet and hands take up another study by Gastine (Ill.1) representing Saint Pierre Nolasque (1189-1246), Languedoc monk of the 13th century, having founded the order of Our Lady of Mercy, for the redemption of captives who fell into the hands of Muslims, during the time of medieval Spain. He was canonized by Pope Urban VIII in 1628. He is celebrated on May 6. Fig.1.
