"Breton Interior Scene."
Oil on panel representing a couple of Breton peasants (typical clothing). On the ground a musical instrument in a bag (bignou). This is probably the father who preaches the good word with a Bible. On the front of the enclosed bed is displayed an Epinal image. This Breton interior scene is touching in its representation of the Breton faith in its innocence.The original frame.
