"Crystal And Vermeil Perfume Bottle, 19th Century. "
This scent bottle with two compartments is made of red cut crystal, cylindrical in shape and with flat ribs, it is fitted with vermeil caps, one which screws on and the other, articulated on a hinge, reveals by opening a cut crystal cap, they are engraved with arabesques and the intertwined SFF monogram. They bear the inscription: Mansfield Dublin – S.Mordan and Co – Makers. Sampson Mordan 1790-1843 is an English goldsmith, he is co-inventor of the first patented mechanical pencil, upon his death his sons succeeded him, they exhibited in 1851 at the Universal Exhibition in London. Mid-19th century period. Length 11.8 cm.
