By the Ateliers du Louvre, between 1870 and 1900, ornamental plate, "Procession of the Panathenaea, man, rearing horse" (sic) by Phydias, for the Parthenon, 5th century BC, 8th plate of the interior west frieze . Rare full staff cast of the bas-relief (unique work) preserved at the Acropolis Museum in Athens. Wooden structure/frame, tow, metal hooks. Stamp of the Louvre Museum (lead or tin, period 1870/1900). Nineteenth century. 100 cm x 140 cm A damaged copy (chips and significant breaks) kept at the Louvre Museum (dept. of Greek, Etruscan and Roman antiquities, ref.: Gy 0735 / not on display) Provenance: property in the South-West of France.
