"A Perfume Bottle In Glass And Gold Mesh Set With Turquoises, Charles"
A round-shaped perfume bottle finished with a hinged cap set with turquoise. The transparent crystal set is surrounded by a gold grid mesh and punctuated with so-called turquoise pearls. The gold and turquoise combination was highly sought after at the beginning of the 19th century in the 1820s-1830s. Turquoise beads often lose their color, changing from blue to green upon contact with oil or perfume. This seems to be the case with our bottle. The gold fishnet turns out to be impeccable.
Hallmark: eagle head, 18 carat.
