Study of a Victorian interior circa 1870, executed on the spot as evidenced by the extreme precision of the renderings, particularly the reflections on the wooden floor. Large, highly decorative format with an amusing french spelling mistake above the fireplace: "A mon feu et mon table ami soit le bienvenu" (To my fire and my table friend be welcome), revealing the author's Anglicanism. Signed or located illegiby at the bottom right.
