Object description :

"Empire Astronomy Clock With Two Readers"
Extraordinary Empire clock based on a model resulting from the collaboration of Claude Galle (1759-1815) and Jean André Reiche (1752-1817). This clock is known as the dual reader “Astronomy Lecture Clock”. The image depicts two women studying face to face in an armillary sphere. The base is decorated with attributes and rests on green marble. The timepiece is signed Jacouin; Rue Montmartre (Jacouin Joseph, Rue Montmartre 1810-1812).
