"Adrien Palisson (1841-?) "bord De Vienne 1906, Limoges, Condat..." Limousin Painter, Musée L"
RARE and superb watercolor by Adrien Palisson representing an edge of Vienna in 1906, signed and dated lower left. Format without frame 27x35cm and 40x51cm including frame. It is therefore a rare watercolor by Adrien Palisson who painted here an edge of Vienne in 1906, most probably between Limoges and Isle, the artist's favorite places; as usual his technique is well-established, as a great professional Palisson produces a perfect and very realistic drawing, which he then enhances with watercolor, in very subtle tones of green, brown, purple, blue, gray.... Adrien Palisson is in the lineage of the great Limousin painters alongside Courtot, Bichet, Alluaud, Aridas...even if he is closer to Aridas and Courtot due to his 19th century side. Adrien Palisson was born in Felletin in Creuse, then it was in Limoges that he spent the majority of his career and he painted many motifs and neighborhoods, neighboring villages, etc. there and exhibited in several salons and galleries. He will notably be present at the Blanc et noir exhibition in 1889 with a view of the Pont Saint-Etienne in Limoges. Also present in an exhibition in Limoges in 1998 on the drawings found. It is referenced in the Harambourg, dictionary of French landscape painters in the 19th century and in the catalogs of painters of the Adrien Dubouché National Museum in Limoges by Louvrier de Lajolais in 1903. This watercolor is in very good original condition, framed in a baguette old with ivory patina Work guaranteed authentic
