A wash with explosive gestures depicting the sacrifice of Isaac, dating from the second half of the 18th century in England around artists such as George Romney and Henry Fuseli. Note the absence of a pencil sketch, a feat that very few artists have the ability to execute, combined with the swirling brushstrokes contrasted by the bath of light overflowing from the reserve areas. The energy and severity that emanate from Abraham bring him close to a Shakespearean figure emerging from the storm.
