"Set Of Four Candlesticks In Sterling Silver Late 18th"
Rare set of 4 very elegant Candlesticks in Sterling Silver (950/1000th) from the end of the 18th century (1798-1809 according to the hallmarks) in a very Louis XVI style. The fluted barrel is decorated with a ribbon on the upper part, and ends with rising asparagus in the lower part. The square base is also decorated with a ribbon garland decorated with knots. The base is weighted with plaster, Hallmark with the 1st Rooster, with the medium guarantee hallmark of department 34 (Hérault), and the small guarantee hallmark as well. The goldsmith's mark is unfortunately illegible. You can see everything clearly in the photos. This set of 4 torches may have been made in Belgium during the period of the French occupation. Some light shocks on the barrels, but very good general condition.
Weight brut: 2.6kg (just about).
