Object description :

"Jacob Desmalter And Georges Jacob, Quartet Of Stamped Chairs From The Empire Period."
Beautiful model by Jacob Desmalter and Georges Jacob, stamped Jacob D. Rue Meslée (association of François Honoré Georges Jacob and his father, Georges Jacob between 1803 and 1813) in mahogany and mahogany veneer, back with butt and shank base with legs of lion.

Characteristic of the Consulate and Empire periods, the back of these four crooked chairs extends into saber rear legs.
In turn Jacob Frères then Jacob D. delivered this model as was the case for:
-a series of eight (with openwork back) delivered for the Palace of the Directory and placed in Madame Bonaparte's bedroom at the Palace of the Tuileries around 1799.
-a series of six (in gilded wood) from Madame Bonaparte's salon at the Tuileries Palace around 1800.

Used condition, perfect stability of the four chairs.
Silk and velvet fabric trim with lattice patterns, used condition.
