Eoch, ribbed spine decorated with gilded irons, title pieces and red volume numbers. Resumption 21 years later of the first critical edition of Rabelais, published in Amsterdam in 1711 and published by Le Duchat and Bernard de La Monnoye. Thomas Gueulette and Charles Jamet, who are at the origin, have added their notes and comments here. Illustrated work with a portrait of Rabelais writing in his study, engraved as a frontispiece by Scotin, a second portrait of the author engraved in a medallion, a folding map of the Chinonais and 3 folding plates representing "La Devinière" , the interior of the author's room and "the outside of Rabelais' room in Chinon".
