"Miniature Portrait Of A Young Gentleman By Amélie De Lacépède, Née Countess Kautz (1795-1860)"
The masterfully miniature of a young gentleman was executed by the French miniature painter Amélie de Lacépède, née Countess Kautz (1796 - 1860 Paris). She lived in Paris, exhibited her miniatures and portraits at the Salon from 1836 to 1842, among others, a watercolor, representing the children of Goeffroy-Saint-Hilire (1838) and portraits of Miss Henriette Isabey (1839). She paints, finally, with very fresh coloring and greenish-blue shadows. The former Maxime Hóbert collection, Paris contained a portrait of a portrait of the artist, another work, the miniature portrait of Helene c. Schulthess-Rechberg, is in the Swiss National Museum, Zurich.
