"Pedestal Table In Precious Wood, Restoration Style, Napoleon III Period – Mid-19th Century"
This Parisian work table features a circular top in speckled mahogany veneer surrounded by a double brass cord and a projecting groove. The belt, plated vertically with projecting elements, is decorated with a frieze of garlands with bronze pompoms. This tray is supported by a six-sided conical shaft in rosewood veneer arranged in butterfly wings with lemon tree fillet, amaranth corners and garland interlacing motifs. This barrel rests on a stepped star-shaped base in violet wood with gadrooned sticks, cords and small motifs in gilded bronze. The whole ends on six claw feet.
