"Important Walnut Jam Maker, Louis XV Style - Early 19th Century"
Large jam maker in solid walnut from the Vienne region, composed of a large door with a molded frame on the exterior and interior parts. This is flanked by a flowerbed panel and a square. This door also has an iron hinge with two attachment points. The lock and key are original, accompanied by a large vertical entrance in original perforated iron as well. The interior of the cabinet contains a shelf. Above, we find a surface-mounted drawer with a rounded edge. In the center, it has an iron pull handle. A beautiful original iron cut-out entrance highlights the passage of the original key. The two uprights of this jam maker are rounded, with knockouts and moldings. They end in a snail’s foot. In the lower part, a beautiful, slightly cut crosspiece forms several volutes. The sides of this piece of furniture are made up of small horizontal panels and vertical panels with chamfered and molded edges, separated by a crosspiece. The top features a dark molded frame of a walnut panel. This piece of furniture is interesting because of its shallow depth. ******** Period: Early 19th Century Excellent condition after restoration in our workshop. Waxed finish.
