"Grand Tour Marble Bathtub, Early 19th Century"
Red and black marble bathtub, carved with double ring handles and central lion head masks on both sides on lion paw feet. Italy, Rome, circa 1810. These picturesque objects particularly delighted the rich aristocrats during their Grand Tour, they were thus able to bring back an antique souvenir representing in miniature the objects they had encountered.
