Biography
by A. M. Comanducci
Born in Naples on October 10, 1888. Son of Attilio Pratella.
After he took courses at the Academy in Naples, his father's teaching and advice were of great help to him.
The example of Giuseppe Casciaro, to whom he was close in his youth, contributed to the completion of his artistic education.
The first painting he exhibited in official exhibitions was "Sunset," which was purchased by the Naples City Hall in 1909.
He then exhibited assiduously at regional and national Neapolitan exhibitions, sometimes at the Venetian Internationals, and at the First Quadrennial in Rome.
Some of his works include "Landscape of Nusco," exhibited in Naples at the "Salvator Rosa" Promotrice in 1912 and purchased by the Royal House; "On the River Calore," purchased by the Duke of Aosta; "The Fiddler's House," sold to the Duchess of Aosta; "Cava dei Tirreni," purchased by the Ministry of Education for the Gallery of Modern Art in Naples; and "Rustic Houses," also owned by the Royal House.
