"Maison Baguès - Lyre Chandelier"
Maison Baguès PARIS “Chinese Lyre Chandelier” Maison BAGUES. Lyre chandelier with flowers in gilded iron and glassware, enhanced with two molded crystal figurines representing Asian characters. Circa 1970. H. 65 - D. 65 cm Usual wear. This superb chandelier can be combined with both a contemporary and Haussmanian interior! MAISON Baguès Baguès was created in 1840 in Auvergne by Noël Baguès. The company then specialized in the creation and manufacture of liturgical bronzes. With the widespread use of electricity, Baguès successfully launched lighting bronzes in 1860. At the beginning of the 20th century, chandeliers were exported to London, Brussels, New York, Rome and even Cairo. In the 1920s, Baguès created its own models in fine ironwork: this was the birth of the collection with its characteristic foliage and parrots. Baguès has built its reputation thanks to the quality of its artisanal know-how. In the workshop located in Normandy, bronze and iron are shaped with traditional techniques of chasing, fine ironwork, precision welding and adjustment. Gilding and silvering with leaf, patina or even setting with bohemian or rock crystals... the creation requires a considerable amount of hand work!
